Revised Research Plan

I have decided to change my topic, not a big change, I will still be using the same type of information, but I'm refocusing my topic to a specific area of children's health due to poverty.

Title
Poverties affects on children due to the lack of affordable health care. (please let me know if this is ok, or if I need to reword it, I'm afraid it's still too broad. Should I maybe change children to families? )

Topic Focus
Children's health, and well being (I'm a little lost on this part, should I still focus it on children's health or the overall outlook on their lives?)

Scope
I would like to look at how the lack of affordable health care affects children (or families) that live in poverty, how it will affect their health and well being.

Academic Disciplines
Psychology, Sociology, Health

Key Terms
Poverty, health care, children's health

Nature of Topic
I think a better way for me to go, instead of just poverty and its affects on children's health, is to look at a specific area like the lack of health care for families that don't have much, and how it affects their lives. I think it would be pretty straightforward if I looked at the problem with health care for children in poverty.

Shelby: When you say you're focusing on a specific area of children's health, what is that area? That is what you want in your Topic Focus. If you are saying your refocus is children's health due to lack of affordable health care, I would shorten up your title and use what you have as a title as your topic focus. Your title can be more general and short; it's really what will go on your pathfinder and draw your reader into your project. The Topic Focus should be the question or thesis statement which succinctly lays out what you are researching. Let me know if I've confused you even more. :) Email me so we can chat about it.
