This week was challenging for me. I had some things come up that made getting my work done a bit hard, but now I'm sitting here at the end of this week, and taking a great big breath! Because of my stay at home mom status, I wasn't able to go to an academic library, but you do what you've got to do I guess.
I thought that this weeks assignments helped a lot with the final project, I loved the organizational one. Coming up with a system for my kids closets was fun. Maybe when we move this summer, I can actually put this this plan in action, or something close to it.
I am really hoping that Week 4 will be a little smoother for me. This weekend I am hoping to really start doing some serious research for my pathfinder.
The topic for my pathfinder is: The affects of poverty on children in the U.S., and I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion about how I could condense that down a little bit. I keep thinking that it is too long, but I've been wrong before.

Shelby: Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are saying, but you do not have to do any research on your topic separate from the assignments. This week you located subject encyclopedias and books in the catalog assignment and, in a few weeks, you will have assignments which take you through periodical databases to find articles and, in the final few weeks, you'll use search engines to locate web sites and other sources. If you keep up with your assignments, you should be fine.
In terms of the scope of your topic. It is still broad and you might want to narrow it to one particular area that poverty impacts children. For example, how it effects their health.
